IFAK

What is an IFAK

IFAK stands for Individual First Aid Kit.  It is a pouch or container which carries life saving equipment to treat the most preventable forms of death on the battlefield or from traumatic injury.

The Council on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) provides guidance on equipment, procedures, and best practices in the combat medicine / trauma space.  CoTCCC is a

Prehospital arm of the Joint Trauma System for the Department of Defense.

The CoTCCC is composed of 42 voting members specially selected as subject-matter experts in trauma, battlefield medicine, tactical medicine, prehospital medicine and their experience in the deployed combat environment. The TCCC Working Group is composed of the CoTCCC and hundreds of subject-matter experts across many domains and liaisons from DoD, Government and Partner nation organizations.

The CoTCCC and the TCCC Working Group focus all of their efforts on providing the best recommendations for training and equipment for our individual service members, combat medics, corpsman, pararescue, and med techs going into harm's way around the world.

Responsibly Sourced

It is incredibly important to responsibly source your medical equipment.  A tourniquet being used to stop hemorrhage needs to work.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of third party vendors pushing fake or replica medical equipment.  Pelican Supply LLC responsibly sources all equipment from approved manufacturers.  You can trust our IFAK and all of its contents.
